FLDS, Busing Kids and "Does Something Stink Here?"

We've all been hearing/reading/watching the hoopala over the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints' (FLDS) raid out in west Texas. My opinion, whoever violated state and/or federal laws, "Hang'em!" "Get a rope!"

I don't even like their religion - "fundamental" or "regular." Despite their claims, I believe Mormons are a non-Christian religion/cult claiming to be Christian. That still does not deny them their right to justice!

OK, that's out of the way.

Does anybody else have a problem with the state forcibly removing children from their mothers, much less their families? Does anyone else have a problem with all of this being done against a religious community? Does anybody else have a problem with said state busing these kids hundreds of miles from their parents and family, however we describe a family? That's sure to help calm people down!

In my mind, the argument that there just wasn't enough room for 400+ kids in foster care in west Texas just does not wash. The City of Houston found room for how many Katrina refugees in how many hours? Just how long is the state planning to retain custody of these American citizens?

Who decided FLDS needed to be broken up? Investigate allegations? Yes! Break up families without evidence (allegations only, so far) ? NO!

Who decided that FLDS is not worthy of due process and human consideration?

At least the state didn't go in and burn them out.

That's my $ 0.03 worth.

Christian, pray for these folks! They need civil justice and the Light of the Lord Jesus Christ!

People should be outraged.

Unfortunately so many today are unread, ignorant "Christianaires" who in their zeal for their own particular brand of watered down Christainity falsely accuse the LDS of not being Christians.

Anonymous,

Thanks for not just reading, but posting.

We will just have to agree to disagree concerning LDS/FLDS's relationship to authentic Christianity handed down through the ages.
