Obama & His Guns

An interesting comment was found in the online news reporting this morning.

John Lott Jr., commenting at FoxNews.com, Obama and Guns: Two Different Views, Monday, April 07, 2008:

"Obama also opposes the current laws in 48 states that let citizens carry concealed handguns for protection claiming, despite all the academic studies to the contrary, that "I think that creates a potential atmosphere where more innocent people could (get shot during) altercations."

Let's see now, Barack Hussein Obama "claims" to be a constitutional something-or-another, but he can not read plain English? What part of "shall not be infringed" does he not understand? Maybe he's not reading the United States Constitution. Maybe he's reading someone else's. Do ya' think?

He's worried about "potential altercations" while people are dying in gun-control regions such as DC and Illinois and San Fransisco and California and Massachusetts and . . . .

But wait! There's more:

"In practice, saying that Obama now believes that the Second Amendment means that there is an individual right to own guns doesn’t mean anything if it can’t even prevent guns from being banned. And even today, despite the pressure from the Pennsylvania primary, Obama is unwilling to state that DC’s or Chicago’s ban on guns are unconstitutional.

Obama’s website only recognizes two legitimate purposes for civilian ownership of guns: “hunting and target shooting.” The notion that people might want to protect themselves when the police are not around isn’t something that he sees as legitimate.

On both his Iraq and trade policies, Obama has already faced the embarrassing situations where his top advisors have had to tell people in other countries not to worry because he doesn’t believe what he is telling American voters.

With guns, it sure looks like Obama is again telling voters what they want to hear, not what he plans on doing."

John Lott, is the author of "Freedomnomics" and a senior research scientist at the University of Maryland.

Is Obama the kind of man/person we want running the country? The kind that tells us what we want to hear, but not the truth? Or do we want Bilary telling "all is well" while they figuratively rape us again? We've had eight long years of their oppression. Can we afford another four? I think you know the answer to that question!

While I am not a supporter of John McCain and voted for Huckabee in the primary, I must admit. Of the three, I simply can not cast my vote for the two from Demon-crats-ville. Their politics stink to high heaven. I do not care that neither is of my gender OR race. They both are committed socialists caught toeing the socialist/communist party line. Sen. McCain is simply the lesser of the three evils we will be presented with in November, INMNSHO. ;>)
