The New "Red Dawn" Movie

H/T: WorldNet Daily

Just ran across this tidbit of "news" for the first time this morning.   I didn't see the original Red Dawn until  . . . sheesh, it must have been the mid-90s.  Anyway, I did see it, enjoyed it and moved on.  It didn't make me hate the Russians any more, or any less, than before.  It did remind me why I do hate Communism and its weak sister, Socialism.

As I understand things, those that most vehemently oppose the screening of this piece want to ban it rather than let the masses decide if it is worth their money.  Doesn't that remind you of the protagonists?  The bad guys?  Eh?

Let's see, we'll allow our socialist elite to control what put into our brains, and hearts, and then the output becomes whatever they want it to be.  Mush.   I'll pass, thank you.

I may, or may not, get around to seeing it.  But it'll be my choice.

God Bless Ya'll !

Are you prepared for technology to fail?

H/T: WorldNet Daily
Prepared for WHAT?
Mr. Kubicek quite rightly points out that when a major piece of our technological world goes awry, it can affect us to the point of destroying our jobs and our lives.

As we've learned only too well watching the devastation in the Gulf, however, technology can collapse at any moment, leaving us to discover just how dependent we have become in relying on something that is fundamentally not reliable.

Ever  had your cell phone freeze up when you wanted to call home for a dinner date with the spouse?  What about when you're calling from the scene of a wreck?  And you're the one in need of emergency service?  Technology, without adequate backup, can really mess up our day.

We go about trusting our lives to technology that is fundamentally not reliable.  Because it works so well AND as reliably as it does, we feel safe and secure in our ignorance.  So do I.

Maybe we aren't as smart as we think we are.

God Bless Ya'll !

We Will NOT Submit!

H/T: American Thinker

A day late, a dollar short.  From the 5/22/10 American Thinker:
When the realization came that we were under attack, not from terrorists, or a foreign army rolling across America with tanks and infantry, not from bombs and missiles, but from traitorous treacherous Americans in business suites, in academia, the press, and Washington DC, I remember shouting from my rooftop, "I will not submit. I will not quit.  I will never give in, and they will destroy America over my dead body; over MY DEAD BODY!"
. . .  I had no idea how I would go about doing this.
When cussin/discussin things with friends, we often wind up with Charlton Heston's quote: "From my cold dead hands!" as our parting shot.  Well, as one who is enjoying his life, what am I doing to prevent things from reaching the COLD, much less the DEAD hands point?

Maybe Welch has an idea, or two, for us in that article.
God Bless Ya'll !
