I guess if you're elected to the California State Assembly you're better than those that put you there. At least with respect to your ability to be protected.
This article tells me the Assemblymen/women can get armed security when they're not on the job. Huh? How come their constituents can't?
"In this day and age, it's not unusual for there to be sworn officers to protect people who work in and visit the Capitol," Murphy said.
I guess the Assembly job gives you more exposure to criminals in the State House your average Joe-six-pack living on the right, or wrong, side of the track. Gotta keep those paid armed personnel handy. Just in case, ya' know?
