H/T: American Thinker

The scales.  They are falling.

One wonders if this is finally the week that the scales fall from the eyes of those Jews who voted for and supported Obama, not to mention these and other voters who hoodwinked themselves into believing that this man was some sort of brilliant new leader.
Obama until now has been pontificating and swanning about.  His only real battles to date have been with straw men of his own making.

If you're not reading DBD daily, shame on you!

I'm just glad I wasn't drinking coffee Sunday morning when I read this.  If I had been, I'd have to buy a new laptop!  hehe

H/T: Fox News

This article reminds me of quote that I associate with a firearms trainer:

A gun should be comforting, not necessarily comfortable
Now we get to read of Mark Fiorino suffering the "uncomfortableness" of legally carrying a gun for whatever reason he chooses.  Philly cops put him on the ground, cussed him roundly, refused to acknowledge his rights as a citizen and threatened him with deadly force for the alleged "crime" of legally carrying a gun - openly and with the required permit.

I wonder how long will it be before another innocent citizen is permanently denied his rights (ie:  murdered) by cops who do not understand their own codes or refuse to follow those they do understand.

Police spokesman Evers is quoted as saying:
"Philadelphia, in certain areas, is very dangerous," he said. "There's a lot of gun violence." Several officers have been killed in the line of duty in the past three years, local authorities say.
Yes, I'm sure Philly has lost officers.  They're doing their duty.  How 'bout all the citizens that lost their lives because they were disarmed by ignorance or stupidity?

Rank Amateur

H/T: American Thinker

Our would-be-president still thinks he has something to say that might be worth listening to.  He tells Israel they should give up more land that they won with the blood of their fathers and expects them to listen to him?

... the naive maneuverings of a rank amateur.

Middle East Codes

H/T: American Thinker

David Bukay has spliced together the foul mess of the Middle East in a way that even I can understand.  No wonder they're so screwed up!

Check it out & tell us what you think.

Spin-off On An Old Email Scam

Received an "interesting" email address to me "personally".  It was from someone with a Japanese-sounding name claiming to be associated with some businessman and his family, Japanese, killed in the tsunami.  Allegedly, someone must step up and claim $5.6 million supposedly left for his sole surviving heir who is only 6 years old.  Would I be willing to step up and be the chosen one, for a small cut of the take?  Just forward my bank account information to the email address below.  Of course, since we are in such dire straits, we can only afford to use this free Yahoo! account.

Didn't the Nigerians start this scam a long time ago?  Anyway, another day, another twist of the ol' scam

Clean Up

Not much going on here.  Another out-patient procedure was done last Monday:  Successfully completed.

Now, I'm cleaning the layout of the blog a bit, trying to remove the unused and generally spruce the place up.  Not terribly energetic, but trying anyway!  hehe

A Social Obligation To Carry A Gun

I stumbled across this link while pursuing various other thoughts this morning.  In other words, by the time I realized the article's value, I had forgotten whence I cam from.

It is very well thought out and I recommend a thorough reading of it.

There exists a law, not written down anywhere but inborn in our hearts; a law which comes to us not by training or custom or reading but by derivation and absorption and adoption from nature itself; a law which has come to us not from theory but from practice, not by instruction but by natural intuition. I refer to the law which lays it down that, if our lives are endangered by plots or violence or armed robbers or enemies, any and every method of protecting ourselves is morally right. - Cicero

Many thanks to correspondent BobL for this blast from the past.

"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear. The traitor is the plague."

Marcus Tullius Cicero Senator of Rome
